First in Ireland in Maths
Over 100 countries participate including the likely favourites, China. Prior to leaving there is an intensive maths training camp in UL Limerick. What a great achievement. Well done Colin and best of luck in Kazakhstan. Colin hopes to continue his maths studies in Cambridge or Trinity this autumn.
And First in Applied Maths
Clonkeen were represented by Colin Egan and Robert Kennedy in the Dublin section of the All Ireland Applied Maths competition. Speed of thought was the vital ingredient. –3 questions every 6 minutes!
Clonkeen came out on top winning by a clear margin. With a score of 29 from 30 they also won the All-Ireland competition. Fantastic. And Colin finished off a great year by coming 3rd in the National Physics competition.- a result which greatly pleased him.
What a great year for maths and applied maths.!
